Synopsis
Everyone knows the story of Konohagakure’s hero: the brave, orphaned jinchuriki who dragged himself to the top with his own bare hands to save the village, the world, and prove to everyone that he, too, could be a great shinobi. Everyone knows his name, his achievements, his legacy. But this story isn’t about him. This is a story about someone who lived in the hero’s shadow and carved her own path in life, someone who never quite lived up to her dreams, but found her peace in the end all the same.
This is the unsung story.
En'noshita Monogatari follows the story of Seiki Hyakurai, a kunoichi of Konohagakure whose life ran parallel to the events of Naruto. She and her fellow shinobi are put to the test in a series of unprecedented catastrophes and challenges that ultimately reach a head in the Fourth Shinobi World War. Seiki may not have been in the spotlight on the world stage, but maybe that's for the best.

Story Development Underway
I know what you're thinking. Why the hell would I start writing the fic before I have all the bones in place on this wiki? Well, there's a simple answer to that: I lack impulse control and I got really excited about putting on paper all the new ideas I've been having lately. For instance, the twins' backstory is changing slightly to make a little more sense and be a little less...um...well, Uchiha ripoffs, for lack of a better term. Seiki's very first original character design was literally an Uchiha relative, sooo there's still some 12-year-old copycat residue to scrub off.
You'll notice I've added a timeline of events to the story page to provide a sort of TL;DR version once I start filling out information on that page. It's a little barebones right now and is primarily being used for my reference of pacing from the anime while I start writing for the time being. And also to try to make chronological sense of the canon timeline. I don't know if you've noticed, but it's kinda wack. Anyway, I'm thinking I'll add another page in the menu for when chapters go live so that you can read them right here on the wiki as well as on AO3 :) More to come on that later, though.
End of April Updates
Progress is being made, slowly but surely. Two major updates were made this month:
1) Character art is being added to some of the pages! So far it's just Seiki and Eiya, but Enishiya will have a piece of her own underway soon and I plan to continue to add to each character's galleries as time goes on :)
2) The guestbook has had a makeover. Previously I was using 123guestbook.com, which is a great site for that specific purpose! However, I wasn't happy with the limited capacity for editing, so I started using the comment widget code made by Ayano! This makes it so I have full control over the styling and data that comes through this site, along with the added benefit of being able to set up comment sections on each character page! Isn't that so rad?
Anyway, I hope someone out there is enjoying observing the gradual development of this site. Also! On the topic of making this a community project, I'm also considering opening an invitation to anyone who wants their OC to be included in the story and/or world-building here! If you'd be interested in that or have opinions on the idea, let me know in the guestbook or leave a message in the chatbox :) I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on that.
Until next time!
End of March Updates
Whoever might be keeping tabs on this page may have noticed a few updates taking place! I'm finally getting around to fleshing out the site a bit and creating landing pages for sections that are kind of just in limbo right now. Full disclosure: this passion project is going to be several months if not years in the making. I started imagining the seeds of this world in my early teens and I'm in my mid-twenties now, if that puts things into perspective. A lot of the characters and world-building aspects have changed and evolved over the years and I anticipate they will continue to do so!
All this to say that this wiki is basically going to be my sounding board while preparing to write the story itself. I'd be over the moon to make this a community project—anyone with ideas is more than welcome to toss them at me in the chatbox to the left or even leave them on the guestbook!
Last but not least, if you enjoy what I'm doing here, please consider supporting me on Ko-fi! You might even be interested in checking out the commission or editing services I offer there :)
Site Launch
Hello, World! This wiki is officially live, but pages are still being built, so please bear with me. If you're wondering where to find and read the fanfic this wiki is for...it doesn't exist. Yet. This project has been ongoing for several years just building the characters and plot and lore; it's not even close to the first draft phase, let alone ready to publish. I hope those who are interested will follow along as the story comes together on this wiki, though!
Please note that currently this site is not quite mobile-friendly yet. I do intend to address this in the future, but first I'm prioritizing building the pages.
